Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Watch

Per Santa Clara County, all county public school districts will close for three weeks beginning March 16.

The Palo Alto Chinese School (PACS) board has been watching the development of COVID-19 in our area and will provide school updates here as needed in addition to sending alerts out about news and actions to take as applicable to the PACS community.

Taking Care

Taking care of ourselves correctly will directly help reduce the spread of any respiratory illness, including COVID-19.

Please educate yourself and your students on proper hygiene and prevention techniques.

The El Camino Health Chinese Health Initiative has compiled a message for the Chinese community for how best to protect ourselves and prevent the spread of the disease. Thanks to them for sharing and providing the following information.

新型冠狀病毒疫情己經延燒到美國，各種真假資訊滿天飛，雖然加州Solano郡出現首例可能的社區感染，美國疾病防治局(CDC) 已經開始調查和隔離可能接觸的人群，並計畫增加測試的範圍，加州州長也在記者會提醒大眾不須過度恐慌，最重要做好個人的防疫工作。

與其過度擔心，不如做好以下新型冠狀病毒防疫工作。

那些是可靠的資訊來源?

美國疾病防治局(CDC) 是全美的感染疾病的控制中心，網站上美國疫情的報告，和有關新型冠狀病毒的資訊。
當地公共衛生部門，如Santa Clara County Public Health Department。
世界衛生組織(WHO) 對於冠狀病毒的疫情和防疫提供很多有用的資訊，而且大多數都有中文。

正確洗手的步驟

正確的洗手，比帶口罩，更能夠有效地保護自己不被新型冠狀病毒，流感，以及任何病毒的感染。您知道正確洗手的步驟嗎?

什麼時候需要戴口罩？

如果您身體健康，僅在照顧2019-nCoV疑似感染者時才需要戴口罩。
如果您咳嗽或打噴嚏，應戴口罩。

為有效防護，除了戴口罩外，還需要經常用含酒精成分的免洗洗手液或肥皂和清水洗手。

如果佩戴口罩，必須了解如何使用和適當處置口罩。

如何改善，使用，取下和處置口罩

戴口罩前用含酒精成分的免洗洗手液清潔手，或用肥皂和清水洗手。
用口罩遮蓋口鼻並繫牢，確保面部與口罩之間無空隙。
在觸摸過程中避免觸摸口罩；如果觸摸了口罩，要用含酒精成分的免洗洗手液清潔手或用肥皂和清水洗手。
如果口罩變得傾斜，應立即換上新口罩。不要重複使用一次性口罩。
取下口罩：手不要觸摸口罩面，通過兩條線繩取下口罩，立即將其丟進封閉的垃圾桶，並用含酒精成分的免洗洗手液清潔手或用肥皂和清水洗手。

提醒大家避免過度憂慮，最重要的是維持正常的作息，有充足的睡眠，健康飲食，多做戶外運動，提升自己的免疫力。
